Heart Circle Studio provides in-home creative play, sensory art, and fine art experiences tailored to your child’s interests, strengths, and individual differences. Using a relationship-based approach rooted in DIRFloortime®, sessions are designed to support developmental growth while fostering creativity and self-expression. Through engaging art experiences, children build skills in regulation, engagement, reciprocal communication, and flexible thinking.
Services
Heart Circle Studio offers 1 hour and 1.5 hour in-home sessions, tailored to your child’s age, needs, and interests. Art experiences are thoughtfully designed in collaboration with you and your child, taking into consideration their unique sensory profile, interests, challenges, and goals. DIRFloortime® is woven into the experience of artmaking and structures each session. Heart Circle Studio focuses on building relationships, following the child’s interests, and gently expanding their developmental capacities through appropriate creative challenges.
About DIRFloortime®
Floortime (also known as DIRFloortime®) is a therapeutic approach used to support development by using a respectful and play-based process. The letters DIR stand for Development, Individual Differences, and Relationships, which form the foundation for the practice. Floortime uses the power of connected and attuned relationships to expand the child’s developmental capacities through play. A research-based practice developed by child psychiatrist Dr. Stanley Greenspan and psychologist Dr. Serena Wieder, Floortime is used by practitioners around the world to support individuals with developmental differences. Who We Are
Nicole Capps is a certified DIRFloortime® practitioner and experienced art educator who supports neurodivergent children in home and school settings. She holds an MFA in Studio Art and brings more than three decades of experience working with children.
As both a mom and a professional, Nicole is passionate about supporting children’s developmental growth through artmaking. Her approach brings together her knowledge of child development, sensory needs, and the creative process to create meaningful experiences that meet each child where they are.
Nicole began her career as a preschool teacher, where she discovered the power of “process over product” and the joy children find in exploring the world through play. As a K–8 art teacher, she developed a hands-on studio art program where children explored painting, clay, fiber arts, collage, sculpture, and printmaking.
Today, Nicole encourages her students to embrace mistakes, experiment, and make their work their own. Nicole loves watching kids surprise themselves with what they can do as they discover how magical artmaking can be.
